Workshop tufting @ WOLF Brussels

During this cozy afternoon, you’ll learn step by step how to create your own unique rug using a tufting machine.

We’ll start with a short introduction where you’ll get to know the materials, tools, and techniques. After that, you’ll have time to practice until you’ve mastered the basic tufting techniques.

Next, you’ll draw your design onto the canvas and choose your colors. Then it’s time for the real work!

After tufting, we’ll shear the rug. I will then apply glue to the back of your piece. Since the work needs time to dry, you won’t be able to take it home right away. I’ll finish it afterward and frame it nicely. Within a maximum of three weeks, you can pick up your rug at WOLF in Brussels or have it shipped to you. Shipping to a Belgian address costs €10 per piece. International shipping is also possible, but different rates may apply.

What we’ll make
A framed rug of 30 × 40 cm, based on your own design.

💡 Tip: Start thinking about your design in advance. Feel free to make some sketches or gather inspiration on Instagram or Pinterest. You can also find plenty of photos and videos from previous workshops on the Instagram page @tapis.plain, perfect to get inspired.
A lot is possible, but try to avoid very fine line drawings and tiny details. On the day itself, we’ll look together at what’s possible and how to approach your design. I’ll be there to help. If you’d like to check in advance whether your design is realistic, don’t hesitate to send me an email.

Time
From 12:30 PM until approximately 5:00 PM. You may finish earlier depending on your design.

Price & materials
The workshop costs €160 per person.
All materials are included in the price.

Food & drinks
One cocktail or mocktail is included. You can also order food or drinks from the WOLF food market.

Cancellation
If you’re unexpectedly unable to attend, you may give your spot to someone else. Refunds are not possible.
